Life Group Questions -- Holy Ghost Stories (3): The Spirit of Truth -- October 11, 2009

Getting Started:

  1. Who was the best counselor you ever had? Why was this person so special?
  2. Place yourself in the disciples' sandals for a moment and read the passage once more. After having spent three years with Jesus, what kind of thoughts and emotions would be going through you as you hear His words here, and begin to realize Jesus is about to leave you?
  3. Why is it better that Jesus should leave and the Holy Spirit come?
  4. What are some of the attributes of the Holy Spirit in this passage?
  5. Why do you think some of those attributes would cause the world to "not accept" Him as Jesus says in vs.17?
  6. How can you be more open to seeing, hearing and feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit in your prayer, Bible reading and reaching out to others for the sake of Jesus?

Application:

  1. Either from the passage or from this week's message, what challenges you the most? What encourages you the most?
  2. How at home are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in your life? How has Jesus revealed the Holy Spirit in your life?
