Life Group Questions -- Holy Ghost Stories (4): The Counselor -- October 25, 2009
Getting Started:
- Have you ever had to serve jury duty? What was your experience like?
- Was there anything from last Sunday's message that surprised or shocked you? What do you think about that issue now?
- In your own words, try and paraphrase the three goals of the Spirit's work (vs. 8-11).
- What do you think Jesus meant when He said, "He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you"?
- Look up John 12:23-24, 27-28, 13:31-32, and 17:1,5. Considering when and how Jesus uses the word "glorify", what do you think that word really means in John's gospel?
Application:
- Of the various roles of the Holy Spirit described here, which one have you come to appreciate recently?
- How has your idea and "gut feeling" about the word "conviction" changed as a result of hearing this week's message and studying this passage?
- Has Jesus ever said things to you that you could hardly bear (v.12)? What happened?
